Employment Services Assistant (Payroll) Career Graded Apprenticeship

We presently have an exciting opportunity within Employment Services Payroll for a Career Graded Payroll Assistant, located in County Hall, Llandrindod Wells.

The successful individuals will receive an opportunity to study towards a nationally recognised Payroll Qualification, through the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP). As well as receiving a fantastic grounding in the profession and an understanding of how we operate, this could be a springboard into a number of exciting opportunities in the future.

We're looking for a bright, ambitious and enthusiastic individual with an appetite for learning and who love working as part of team. You'll need a good academic track record, excellent organisational skills, demonstrate a technical aptitude and have great communication skills. Should you successfully meet the requirements of the appointment over the career graded training period, you will take up the permanent position on full pay.

What will you be paid?

During the qualification period, you will be paid the real living wage rate of £13.45 per hour.

On achieving the qualification, you will be paid on a pay scale currently ranging between £26,427 and £26,847 (Grade 4, SCP5-6).

Powys County Council currently applies a discretionary real living Wage

supplement to all employees earning less than £13.45 per hour.
