Full Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our newly formed Employee Relations / Investigation Team. You will be responsible for providing high-quality, expert advice regarding all formal ER matters, ensuring our formal investigations are completed to an excellent standard, in a timely way, consistent with employment legislation and best practice. You will be a values-led professional, who is passionate about fairness, equity and driving continuous improvement. With a strong focus on staff engagement and wellbeing, you will champion an approach that ensures colleagues feel supported, listened to and able to thrive, even in the most challenging times. Working collaboratively with staff and managers who have experience navigating these challenging processes, you will help to co-design our approach, ensuring we are constantly making improvements in this specialist area, reaching the best outcomes for the individual, the team and the Trust. You will provide coaching and facilitation support to managers, to develop their competence and confidence in this specialist area, ensuring they are equipped to deal with these sensitive cases in a supportive way. - Provide advice and guidance for all formal Employee Relations cases, ensuring staff members who are involved in these difficult and challenging processes feel supported.
- Provide expert advice, coaching and training for managers involved in these processes, to ensure we deliver a best-in-class ER service, supporting Commissioning Managers, Hearing Chairs and Investigating Officers, to ensure they are confident in undertaking these roles and are clear about their responsibilities.
- Contribute to policy development, implementation, research and review, using an Experience-Based Co-Design approach, to ensure we are constantly making improvements in our practice, incorporating feedback from staff and managers involved in these processes, and following best practice guidelines.
- Interpret employment legislation and case law, providing authoritative advice on all ER related issues, ensuring the Trust is prepared in advance of any legislative changes.
- Share learning and recommendations from all formal ER cases with the Senior People Business Partners, to ensure these are implemented and improvements are made, driving a robust approach to data, standardisation, consistency and clarity of approach.
- Identify, monitor and analyse trends within the ER cases, identifying opportunities for improvements to be made, and providing advice on the options available.
