Full Job Description
Are you passionate about supporting young people's emotional well-being? Do you want to make a real difference in students' lives, helping them navigate challenges and thrive in school? If so, we'd love to hear from you!
Why Join Us?
At The Gateway School, we believe that emotional well-being is just as important as academic success. As an ELSA, you'll play a key role in helping students develop resilience, manage emotions, and build positive relationships. You'll be part of a supportive team, working in a dynamic school environment where every day brings new opportunities to make an impact.
Your Role:
Work one-on-one or in small groups with students facing emotional or behavioural challenges.
Create a safe and nurturing space where students feel heard and supported.
Plan and deliver targeted interventions, including social skills, friendship groups, bereavement support, and anger management.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure students get the best support possible.
Keep accurate records to track progress and measure the impact of your interventions.
A compassionate and patient individual who can build strong, trusting relationships with students.
Experience working with young people, especially those with emotional or behavioural needs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting students' well-being.
