Full Job Description
Scarsdale Vets Pride Park, Derby is looking for an Emergency OOH Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a 9 month fixed term contract.
This role is a unique opportunity to see a diverse and steady case load as we cover OOH for our own practices and a number of surrounding practices. If you enjoy ECC and the challenge of non-routine cases then this role could be exactly what you are looking for. We have an excellent range of facilities and equipment which contribute to a high standard of patient care.
Inpatient care will be looking after the existing inpatients and undertaking procedures/emergency surgery as required e.g., foreign body removal, GDV, C- Section, dressing changes. You will solely be based at our Pride Park hospital, supported by an excellent nursing team, with support from a referral intern overnight.

The main hospital is based at Pride Park in Derby and is home to a busy first opinion practice, a multidisciplinary referral service and an out-of-hours service. We have 8 practice sites in addition to the hospital.
We have a talented and enthusiastic experienced team of veterinary surgeons supported by an exceptional team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants and Client Care Advisors.
All our stand-alone practices are RCVS approved. Our main hospital is well equipped with a CT scanner, MRI, Advanced Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Digital X-ray, Dental radiography, and multiple surgical suites, as well as an onsite hydrotherapy & rehabilitation centre and benefits from a multi-disciplinary specialist led referral service.
Applicant Requirements
Experienced ECC vet surgeon, good communication skills, ability to work independently and part of the team, desire, and passion to grow and progress in your career. Must be RCVS registered.
