Full Job Description

We're looking for an Electronics Engineering Manager to lead our UK-based Electronic/Electrical Engineering team within the Hardware Engineering department. In this pivotal role, you'll drive global collaboration, align strategies with industry best practices, and mentor a talented team of engineers. You'll work across functions and international sites to optimise our engineering capability and capacity, contributing to the development of cutting-edge Linac Solutions. What you'll do at Elekta Your responsibilities will include (but is not limited to):

  • Lead and inspire the Engineering team, driving innovation and excellence in people, technology, and processes.
  • Champion engineering principles, imparting knowledge, methods, and strategic thinking across the team and department.
  • Play a pivotal role in the hardware engineering management team, influencing key decisions and strategic directions.
  • Contribute to the development of product and technical roadmaps in collaboration with product management, solution architects, and domain system engineers.
  • Responsibility for the quality of engineering deliverables.
  • Engage in systems engineering activities, including system decomposition, risk analysis, and defining functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Build and nurture a high-performing, collaborative Engineering team that consistently delivers exceptional value. "Own the problem" and accountable mindset.
  • Mentor and guide team members, providing technical expertise and fostering professional growth.
  • Strategically develop team capabilities, addressing current and future needs through training, development, and succession planning.
  • Promote a LEAN-Agile mindset within the team.

  • What you bring:

  • Degree qualified or significant relevant experience. Minimum of an HND/HNC in an engineering or scientific subject.
  • 10 years or more of leadership experience with complex systems/product development.
  • Can demonstrate excellent results in a technical management position.
  • Experience from a heavily regulated business environment with formal training in medical product safety desirable.
  • Risk management policy, principals and processes; medical sector specific knowledge is desirable, including ISO 13485, IEC 60601.
  • Chartered Engineer from a recognised engineering body.
  • Highly conversant and experienced with a range of Elekta products. Expert level of knowledge in the Linac Devices product portfolio.
  • Sound appreciation of software, mechanics, electronics and physics as applied to Elekta products.
  • Proven experience in design or application of engineering/science, through to product release in cross-functional projects.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical and has excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities., Hybrid work option (you are required to work from the Crawley HQ at least 3 days/week)
