Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) Offshore Operations

Offshore Operations is seeking a highly capable and confident Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of all electrical and electronic equipment, installations, and machinery onboard. This includes, but is not limited to, the Dynamic Positioning (DP) system, radio communications, bridge navigation systems, domestic and hotel electrical systems, and internal and external telecommunications systems.

What you'll do as an Electro Technical Officer (ETO)
Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, the Electro Technical Officer (ETO) will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and ongoing reliability of the vessel's electrical and electronic systems. Key responsibilities include:
· Maintenance, testing, and support of shipboard safety and emergency systems, ensuring their continued availability and compliance with statutory, Class, and Company requirements.
· Providing electrical and technical support for vessel navigation, communication, and associated electronic systems, ensuring reliable operation and ongoing regulatory compliance.
· Electrical and technical support for propulsion related, vessel manoeuvring, and Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems, including associated power generation, distribution, drive, control, and redundancy systems, where fitted.
· Execution of planned maintenance activities in accordance with the vessel's Planned Maintenance System (PMS), ensuring tasks are completed correctly, efficiently, and within required intervals.
· Maintaining accurate and timely records to support compliance with Class, Flag State, ISM, ISPS, DP notation, and charterer requirements, ensuring documentation remains audit ready at all times.
· Liaison with shoreside technical support and service engineers, coordinating inspections, defect rectification, upgrades, and specialist attendance as required.
· Providing electrical support and technical guidance to engineering staff and deck officers, supporting safe, efficient vessel operations and the integrity of DP and other critical systems.

· Valid STCW Electro-Technical Officer Certificate (III/6)
· Recognised seagoing ETO experience
· Strong knowledge of marine electrical, electronic, and automation systems
· Experience with fault diagnosis and system recovery under operational conditions
· Familiarity with PMS systems and audit requirements
Desirable:
· DP vessel / offshore experience
· Knowledge of power management systems and redundancy concepts
· High-voltage training (where applicable)
· GMDSS maintenance endorsement
Personal Attributes
· Highly safety-focused with a methodical approach to fault-finding
· Able to work independently as the vessel's electrical specialist
· Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with the Chief Engineer and bridge team
· Calm and effective under pressure in operational environments
