Salary: £54,700-£59,100 (including shift allowances, DOE)

Shift Pattern: 12 Hours - 7-7, 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off

The Role

As an Electrical & Controls Technician, you will ensure the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of complex process and high-speed food processing equipment. Your main focus will be on:

• Troubleshooting: Provide equipment troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance.


• Preventive Maintenance: Shift focus towards preventive maintenance activities as troubleshooting needs are met.


• Continuous Improvement: Participate in teams focused on enhancing processes and working on new projects.

Shift Pattern

• 12 Hours:


• 2 Days: 7am-7pm


• 2 Nights: 7pm-7am

What We're Looking For

• Practical Electrical Engineering Skills: HNC/HND (NVQ Level 4 apprenticeship or equivalent) and BS7671, or comparable hands-on experience.


• Understanding of Precision Instrumentation: Experience with repair and calibration of technical equipment.


• Mindset: Strong problem-solving abilities, curiosity, and a drive to improve processes.


• Adaptability: Ability to work with various electrical power supplies and control systems.


• Experience: Troubleshooting and maintaining automated or electromechanical machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, Troubleshoot, Test, and Modify: Automated and electromechanical equipment.


• Apply Engineering Principles: Use mechanical and electrical knowledge to resolve production issues.


• Develop Maintenance Metrics: Track and communicate to improve system reliability.


• Participate in Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Bring fresh perspectives to enhance processes.


• Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis: Analyze major breakdowns and recurring problems.
