Full Job Description
Cherwell Valley Silos (based just outside King s Sutton, Banbury) are recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, with Mechanical knowledge (Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, 18th Edition BS761) to ensure that our busy Animal Feed Production facility runs safely and efficiently; and that equipment and machinery is maintained to a high a standard. This rewarding role will balance preventative maintenance with rapid emergency fault-finding across both electrical automation systems and mechanical machinery to prevent downtime., Work alongside our existing team of staff and contractors. Electrical & Automation Systems
- Fault Finding: Diagnose complex electrical faults using schematics, testing meters and diagnostic tools.
- PLC Systems: Troubleshoot issues with automated control systems, sensors, control panels and variable speed drives.
- Hardware Upkeep: Remove, replace and calibrate motors, electrical assemblies, switchgear and safety protection devices. Mechanical Maintenance
- Equipment Repair: Maintain and repair a mix of machinery, including pellet mills, grinders, conveyors, bucket elevators, mixers and pneumatic systems.
- PPM Schedules: Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to optimise machinery life and performance.
- Heavy Fitting: Conduct manual alignment, bearing replacements, fabrication, welding and lubrication of mechanical parts.
- Fabrication and Welding. Make, repair and adapt parts of the plant, as required. Compliance & Operations
- Safety Protocols: Adhere strictly to Health & Safety (H&S) policies and all relevant regulations.
- Industry Standards: Maintain plant cleanliness and processes.
Here at CVS we take your qualifications into account, but we realise that qualifications do not tell the whole story. if you have relevant experience understand the needs of the business and think you are suitable, send in your full CV explaining your relevant experience and what you can offer this role., Core Technical Level: BTEC Level 4, City & Guilds, or an equivalent National Diploma / NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. - Electrical Certification: Formal electrical compliance qualification, such as 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (or regional equivalent).
- Apprenticeship: Time-served engineering apprenticeship in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting is highly preferred., Industry Background: Prior maintenance experience in animal feed mills, grain processing, food manufacturing or bulk-handling industries.
- Technical Breadth: Strong dual-skilled proficiency (roughly a 60/40 or 50/50 split in electrical competency and mechanical robustness).
- Mindset: Methodical problem-solver capable of working autonomously during high-pressure breakdown scenarios
