Electrical Construction Manager

Position: Electrical Construction Manager Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset Salary: £88,000 per annum Bonus: Up to 15% Car: Company car eligibility or £550 gross monthly cash allowance Benefits: Available Lead Electrical Construction Delivery on One of the UK's Largest Infrastructure Projects We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to support the delivery of a major industrial construction programme at Hinkley Point C. This is a senior, site-focused construction role requiring strong technical knowledge, contractor management capability and the ability to coordinate complex electrical installation activities across engineering, procurement, construction, quality and commissioning. We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates from major industrial and highly regulated sectors including: Power Generation | Nuclear | Oil & Gas | Petrochemical | Chemical | Pharmaceutical | Automotive Manufacturing | Hospital Construction |
Water | Major Infrastructure | EPC Previous nuclear experience would be advantageous, but it is not essential. Strong candidates with significant electrical construction experience from comparable industrial environments are encouraged to apply. The Role As Electrical Construction Manager, you will take responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of electrical construction activities within your assigned scope. You will work closely with engineering teams, procurement, subcontractors, quality, EHS and commissioning to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme, quality and technical requirements. Key responsibilities will include: Develop detailed construction execution plans and electrical sub-schedules aligned with the overall project programme. Coordinate with Engineering and Procurement to ensure drawings, technical documentation, materials and equipment are available when required. Manage electrical subcontractors carrying out
installation and construction activities. Drive subcontractor performance to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Define clear priorities, targets and expectations for construction teams. Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays, risks or deviations. Implement corrective actions where construction activities fall behind plan or outside agreed requirements. Support contract and subcontract management, including changes, variations and construction issues. Ensure compliance with project EHS requirements and site-specific safety arrangements. Promote a strong safety culture across all electrical construction activities. Maintain and drive electrical construction quality requirements. Coordinate interfaces between electrical, mechanical, civil and commissioning teams. Support the transition of completed electrical systems from construction into commissioning. Drive the close-out of punch-list items and

outstanding construction activities. Ensure installed equipment and materials are appropriately protected and preserved. Monitor subcontractor work areas to maintain safe, clean and controlled site conditions. Produce clear and concise progress reporting covering programme, risk, performance and forecast delivery. Escalate potential construction, commercial, quality or programme impacts before they affect key milestones. Work effectively within a complex, multi-disciplinary and international project environment. What We're Looking For We are looking for an experienced electrical construction professional who has delivered major installation packages within a large-scale industrial, engineering or infrastructure environment. You may have developed your experience within: Power generation Nuclear Oil & gas Petrochemical or chemical processing Pharmaceutical manufacturing Automotive manufacturing Hospitals or complex building services projects Water or process facilities Major industrial
infrastructure EPC or turnkey engineering projectsExperience working for a major EPC contractor, engineering organisation, OEM, project developer, infrastructure investor or industrial construction contractor would be highly relevant. Essential Experience You should be able to demonstrate: Significant experience in electrical construction management or electrical project delivery. Strong field-based construction experience. Experience managing major electrical installation packages. Proven experience managing subcontractors and specialist electrical contractors. Strong understanding of construction programmes, sequencing and site interfaces. Knowledge of contract management, subcontracting and construction variations. Experience working within EPC or major industrial project environments. Good understanding of Environment, Health & Safety requirements on major construction sites. Strong knowledge of construction quality and installation standards. Experience coordinating
between Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning teams. Ability to identify construction risks, constraints and potential programme delays. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Strong organisational and planning capability. Ability to operate effectively in a time-constrained, high-pressure project environment. Confidence managing multiple stakeholders and construction interfaces. Qualifications Ideally, you will hold: A degree in Electrical Engineering; A degree in Electromechanical Engineering; Or another relevant electrical engineering qualification. Candidates with an equivalent technical qualification supported by substantial electrical field construction experience will also be considered.
