If you have previous experience of working as an Electoral Services Assistant, and you would like to develop your career at Warwick District Council or you have experience of working as an Electoral Services Officer, and you are looking to move Councils to gain further experience, we would love to hear from you. This post is to cover maternity for one year.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hard working individual to join the Electoral Services team. The successful candidate will play an important role in organising all district elections and town/parish elections in May 2027 and support the implementation of the Elections Act 22 and the Representation of the Peoples Bill for one year.
Main responsibilities
Have the sole responsibility for planning and management of the daily workflow. Support and train Electoral Services Assistants.
Undertake the recruitment process for Canvassers and temporary staff for Electoral Duties.
Monthly reporting to government bodies and political parties.
Having sole responsibility for the daily management of special category voters. Managing document retention on all registration and election documentation.
To have overall responsibility of implementing the Accessibility Law. Undertaking a leading role in the planning of all elections.
Undertaking a leading role in the planning of the annual canvass.
Hours & Contract type - Fixed
This role is on a temporary contract for one year to cover maternity. The successful applicant will be required to work 37 hours per week Monday - Friday with additional hours and some weekend/evening work during the election period.

About WDC, the team and the Role
The Electoral Services team is made up of an Electoral Services Manager, two Electoral Services Officers and three Electoral Services Assistants. We have recently undertaken a restructure within the team due to the new electoral laws being implemented which has changed the way the electoral processes work for both electoral registration and running elections.
