We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Teacher of Hair and Beauty to join our fantastic team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA), Working closely with the Curriculum Leader, you will:

  • Support the development and implementation of effective teaching and learning strategies
  • Lead on intervention strategies to improve attainment and progress
  • Monitor curriculum delivery, planning and student outcomes
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Ensure high standards of assessment, recording and reporting
  • You will also deputise for the Curriculum Leader where required and take responsibility for agreed areas of departmental leadership. Leadership and curriculum responsibilities: The successful candidate will:
  • Support and lead colleagues to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes
  • Contribute to lesson observations, coaching and mentoring
  • Help identify and deliver high-quality CPD and professional development
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture
  • Support the strategic development of the curriculum
  • Contribute to school improvement priorities and self-evaluation

    You will be a qualified teacher with successful experience delivering Hair & Beauty for City & Guilds pathway and teaching within Key Stage 4. You will have excellent subject knowledge in Hair and Beauty and a clear understanding of the City & Guilds qualification and current curriculum developments. You will be a confident and effective communicator with the ability to build strong professional relationships. With a passion for education, you will be committed to raising achievement and inspiring a love of learning in all students. As a motivated and collaborative practitioner, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively

    This is a permanent, full-time position on Teaching terms MPS-UPS plus TLR 2.1 allowance of £3,527, starting September 2026.
