Full Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school in Todmorden from September. This is a full-time position supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), helping them access learning, develop communication skills, and achieve their individual goals in a safe and nurturing environment. The Role
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with PMLD.
- Assist with personal care and medical needs where required.
- Support sensory-based learning activities and communication programmes.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver high-quality education and care.
- Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and social development.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
Previous experience working with children or young people with PMLD, complex needs, or SEND. - A patient, caring, and resilient nature.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of sensory learning approaches, communication methods, and personal care requirements is desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in education, care, health, or SEND are beneficial but not essential.
