Full Job Description

This is a rare and genuinely rewarding opportunity to join a specialist secondary school dedicated to supporting autistic students, including those who are non-verbal or pre-verbal, within a therapeutic, community-led environment. With small class sizes of just 10 to 15 students and an exceptional team of 4 to 5 teaching assistants within your classroom, you will have the space and support to truly know each learner and deliver teaching that makes a lasting difference. What you will be doing
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons aligned to the National Curriculum SEN framework
- Carrying out ongoing formative and summative assessment, tracking individual student progress against EHCP targets
- Communicating proactively with parents and carers, including attending parents' evenings once per term
- Building meaningful relationships with autistic and non-verbal learners using therapeutic interventions, AAC strategies, and low arousal approaches
- Leading your classroom team, directing TA support to maximise outcomes for every student
- Contributing positively to the wider school community and embracing continuous professional development The support structure around you You will never work in isolation. A comprehensive support network is in place to help you thrive:

QTS (or on track to achieve it) - Understanding of autism spectrum condition (ASC) and experience working with autistic or non-verbal learners

- Strong communication skills for working with families and multi-agency teams
