You don't need previous classroom experience. What matters is that you're patient, empathetic, resilient and genuinely interested in understanding and supporting young people. Your role could involve:

• Providing individual and small-group support.
• Helping students overcome barriers to learning.
• Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Building positive, consistent relationships with young people.
• Encouraging confidence, independence and engagement.
• Learning how different SEND needs can affect a young person's experience of education.
