Full Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who enjoys working in a mainstream classroom environment but is also keen to provide additional support to pupils with Special Educational Needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team, helping pupils access the curriculum, develop their confidence and make positive progress throughout the school year. The Role

  • Provide general classroom support across the primary setting.
  • Work alongside the class teacher to support pupils with their learning.
  • Provide additional 1:1 and small-group support where required.
  • Support pupils with mild to moderate SEN needs.
  • Assist with literacy, numeracy and other classroom activities.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
  • Support pupils who may require additional help with behaviour, communication or emotional regulation.
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual learning needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school team.

    Previous experience working within a primary school or with children is desirable.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN would be advantageous.
  • A patient, approachable and enthusiastic personality.
  • Confident working with both whole classes and individual pupils.
  • Able to build positive relationships with children.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive and willing to use your initiative.
  • Passionate about helping children achieve their potential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

    £110+ per day depending on experience.
  • Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm.
  • Full-time position from September 2026.
