Full Job Description

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wythenshawe is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity until the end of the academic year, supporting primary-aged pupils with additional needs within a nurturing and supportive learning environment. The school is committed to providing every child with the support and opportunities they need to succeed. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and the wider support team to deliver personalised support, helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and build independence throughout the school day.,

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Supporting primary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH needs
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
  • Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Helping to implement individual support plans, EHCP strategies, and classroom interventions
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all pupils can thrive

    Have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs
  • Be patient, caring, and adaptable with a nurturing approach
  • Be confident supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Be committed to helping children achieve their full potential
  • Have the right to work in the UK and be available to work full-time
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification (desirable)
  • PECS, Makaton, BSL, or AAC training (desirable)
  • Team Teach, MAPA, or similar behaviour management training (desirable)

    Competitive daily rate of £110 per day
  • Full-time working hours of 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

  • Dedicated consultant and ongoing support throughout your placement

  • Compliance and Safeguarding This role is subject to an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS, satisfactory references, and full compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE 2025) guidance and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.
