Full Job Description

Educato are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Bolton for an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for the 2026/27 academic year, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, communication difficulties and associated learning needs. This is a rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with teachers and therapists to help pupils regulate their emotions, engage in learning and achieve their individual goals within a nurturing and structured environment. The Role

  • Support pupils with SEMH and additional SEND needs throughout the school day.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Help pupils manage behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Encourage independence, communication and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.

    Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, Autism, ADHD or additional SEND.
  • Calm, resilient and able to remain positive in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with complex needs.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

    £110-£120 per day (depending on experience)
  • Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 3:30pm Full-time | September Start | Full Academic Year,
