Full Job Description

As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting individual pupils and helping them access learning in a meaningful and engaging way.

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support or working with small groups of up to six pupils
  • Supporting the class teacher during lessons and learning activities
  • Assisting with lesson preparation, planning, and classroom organisation
  • Monitoring pupil progress and communicating observations with teaching staff
  • Supporting pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips
  • Where appropriate, setting and marking work under teacher guidance
  • Building positive, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and learning

    We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and who thrives in a collaborative school environment.
  • A strong educational background, ideally to A-Level, including GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
  • Previous experience in a Teaching Assistant or similar support role
  • Experience working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Confidence supporting behaviour management strategies
  • The ability to take initiative and contribute to wider school activities (e.g. lunchtime support, enrichment sessions, forest school, or similar)
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
