Our client, a thriving educational institution in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Full-time PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) Teaching Assistant to join their exceptional team. As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing individualised support and care to students with profound and multiple learning disabilities. Your role will be to assist in creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning atmosphere, ensuring that each student receives the tailored attention and resources they require to thrive. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support, adapting teaching methods and resources to meet the unique needs of each student
- Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement effective learning strategies
- Assisting with personal care tasks, such as feeding, toileting, and mobility, with the utmost dignity and respect
- Facilitating sensory activities, art, music, and other therapeutic interventions to stimulate and engage students
- Actively participating in the planning and evaluation of each student's individual education plan
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation to track student progress and communicate with parents and carers To excel in this role, you will need to possess a genuine passion for working with students with complex needs, as well as a deep commitment to inclusive education.
