Full Job Description

This full time, long term role will involve supporting pupils with Autism, Learning disabilities, communication needs, and social-emotional difficulties. The successful SEND TA will work closely with class teachers and the SENDCO to ensure pupils receive the support needed to thrive within mainstream education. Daily Duties

  • Supporting pupils within the SEND provision and mainstream classrooms
  • Delivering targeted interventions and booster sessions
  • Supporting children with Autism and Learning disabilities
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Assisting with communication and language development
  • Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Helping pupils access classroom activities and the wider curriculum
  • Monitoring and recording student progress
  • Liaising with teachers, parents, and external professionals
  • Encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence, The role involves direct, daily contact with children and regulated activity. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be expected to actively promote safeguarding, welfare, and child protection standards throughout the school.

    Experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or SEND TA
  • Strong understanding of Autism and Learning disabilities
  • Experience supporting SEND pupils in a school setting
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a busy school environment
