We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join the team at Ormston School in Leeds. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and are looking to develop their career within a supportive and nurturing educational environment. You will be joining a newly established secondary provision, where you will play a key role in helping to shape a positive and engaging learning experience for pupils. We have over 30 years' experience in supporting young people, and all inspected services have been rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated support to individual pupils or small groups (up to six pupils)
  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing, liaising with colleagues as required
  • Support pupils during non-classroom activities, including trips and extracurricular sessions
  • Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Set and mark work where appropriate
  • Build strong, positive relationships that promote engagement and learning outcomes

    We are looking for individuals who:
  • Have a strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or equivalent)
  • Have previous experience in a Teaching Assistant or similar role
  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
  • Are confident in behaviour management strategies
  • Are willing to take on additional responsibilities within the school community
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development
  • Are willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
