Full Job Description
Are you an experienced and committed Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)?,
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with complex ASC needs
- Support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
- Implement structured routines and behaviour support strategies
- Assist with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and safety
- Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
- Contribute to a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment About the School

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Stanley that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with complex ASC needs on a full-time basis., Essential: - Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly ASC
- Understanding of behaviour, communication, and sensory needs
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Willingness to support personal care needs
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, committed, and looking for a long-term opportunity Desirable:
- Experience in a specialist provision or ASC unit
- Knowledge of approaches such as visual supports, structured teaching, or intensive interaction
- Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3), At Schools Mutual Services, safeguarding is our top priority. All staff are subject to rigorous interview processes and reference checks. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role, and one will be carried out if you do not currently hold a valid certificate.
Full-time role with an immediate start - Opportunity to transition to a permanent contract after a successful trial period
