Full Job Description

As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing personalised support and guidance to individual students, ensuring they reach their full academic potential. Your role will involve working closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to develop and implement tailored learning strategies that cater to each student's unique needs and learning styles. Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing one-to-one support and assistance to students in the classroom, during small-group activities, and in individual learning sessions.
  • Collaborating with teachers to identify each student's strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, and then designing and implementing effective learning plans to address their needs.
  • Monitoring student progress, maintaining detailed records, and regularly communicating with teachers and parents to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Assisting with the preparation and delivery of lesson materials, as well as the adaptation of resources to suit individual student requirements.
  • Offering emotional and social support to students, helping them to develop confidence, resilience, and positive study habits.
  • Participating in regular professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methodologies and best practices.
  • Adhering to all school policies, procedures, and safeguarding protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of the students in our care.

    Our client, a highly respected educational institution in Horsham, West Sussex, is seeking a dedicated and experienced One-to-One Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of £20,422 - £21,111 per annum., Qualifications Skills Experience - Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistant or equivalent - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - At least 2 years of experience working as a One-to-One Teaching Assistant or in a similar role - A relevant degree or diploma in education, psychology, or a related field would be highly desirable - Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students - Working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities - A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for occasional travel - Strong organisational and time-management abilities - Collaborating with teachers and educational professionals - An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check - Proficiency in using technology and digital tools to support learning - Implementing individualised learning plans and monitoring student progress
