Full Job Description
A highly supportive and inclusive primary school in Culcheth, Warrington is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with Autism (ASC). This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a nurturing environment where individualised learning, inclusion and pupil wellbeing are at the heart of everything. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting a child to access the curriculum, develop communication skills and regulate within a structured and supportive setting. The Role:
- Delivering targeted 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with Autism (ASC)
- Supporting access to learning through differentiation, scaffolding and adaptive teaching strategies
- Utilising visual supports such as PECS, Now & Next boards, visual timetables
- Supporting emotional regulation, transitions and engagement within the classroom
- Facilitating learning in both mainstream and low-arousal/breakout environments
- Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff to meet EHCP outcomes
- Promoting positive behaviour, independence and social development, This role is perfect for a Teaching Assistant looking to further develop their experience within SEN education, particularly within a KS1 setting supporting Autism.
Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly Autism / ASC - Strong understanding of inclusive practice and child-centred approaches
- Skilled in behaviour management, de-escalation and positive reinforcement strategies
- Confident delivering 1:1 interventions and building strong, trusting relationships
- Patient, resilient and proactive with a genuine passion for SEN
- Committed to providing consistency and continuity for the pupil
£105 per day | Full-time | Long-term | Immediate start available, Competitive daily rate of £105 - Full-time hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
- Long-term role until at least the end of the academic year
