Full Job Description
We are working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Worsley who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil on a 1:1 basis. The child has a diagnosis of autism and requires consistent, structured support to help them access learning and regulate within the classroom environment. The Role:
- Providing 1:1 support for a child in Year 2 with autism (ASC)
- Supporting the child within the classroom and during transitions throughout the school day
- Implementing strategies to support communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow the child's EHCP
- Creating a calm, positive, and structured learning environment
Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a supportive primary school environment?, Experience supporting children with autism, ideally within a school setting - A proactive, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong behaviour management skills and understanding of SEN strategies
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Experience with tools such as visual timetables, Now & Next boards, or sensory strategies is desirable
