Full Job Description

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and moderate to severe learning difficulties. Working alongside a skilled team of teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, you will create a nurturing, structured, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, personalised lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where appropriate.
  • Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, the SENCO, and other professionals to support pupils' development.
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Promote positive behaviour using consistent and supportive behaviour management strategies.
  • Implement EHCP targets and contribute to personalised learning plans.
  • Fulfil all professional responsibilities in line with the Teachers' Standards.

    A welcoming and supportive specialist SEN school in Levenshulme is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN teacher or a qualified teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs in a specialist education setting., Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching pupils with SEND or a strong interest in specialist education.
  • Has a strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiated learning.
  • Has confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Is patient, adaptable, and committed to helping every pupil achieve their full potential.
  • Has the right to work in the UK and is available full-time.
  • Desirable (but not essential)
  • Experience working within a specialist SEN school.
  • Knowledge of Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or complex learning needs.
  • Experience implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
  • Team Teach or other positive behaviour management training.
