Full Job Description
A welcoming and supportive SEN school in Sale is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join their team from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity until the end of the academic year, providing classroom supervision and support for pupils with a range of additional needs in a specialist learning environment. The school is committed to ensuring every pupil receives the support they need to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged with their learning while maintaining a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and the wider SEN team to provide consistency and high-quality support throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities
- Supervising whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain on task
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and activities in line with school expectations
- Supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
- Managing classroom behaviour using positive behaviour strategies and school policies
- Providing additional support to individual pupils where required
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff

Have previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN or education setting - Be confident managing classroom behaviour and leading groups of pupils
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills
- Be calm, resilient, adaptable, and proactive
- Be committed to supporting pupils with additional needs to achieve their full potential
- Have the right to work in the UK and be available to work full-time
- Previous Cover Supervisor experience is desirable but not essential
- Team Teach, MAPA, or similar behaviour management training is desirable
Competitive daily rate of £125 per day - Full-time working hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
