Full Job Description

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN throughout the school day.
  • Using sport and physical activity to promote engagement, teamwork, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom to help them access learning.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupils with emotional regulation.
  • Assisting with the implementation of EHCP targets and behaviour support strategies.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and support staff to meet pupils' individual needs.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils to promote inclusion and personal development.

    A welcoming mainstream primary school in Altrincham is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic SEN Sports Coach to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sports coach, graduate, or youth worker looking to use their skills to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within an inclusive school environment.
  • Working closely with teachers and the SENCO, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Through sport, physical activity, and positive relationship building, you will help pupils engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals.,
  • Have experience working with children or young people through sports coaching, education, youth work, or similar settings.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
  • Be energetic, patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Be confident supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Have the right to work in the UK and full-time availability.
  • Sports coaching qualifications (desirable).
  • Team Teach, MAPA, or similar de-escalation training (desirable).
