Full Job Description
We are currently recruiting a dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Whitworth from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) in a nurturing and highly supportive educational environment. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of students who require specialist support to access learning, communication and daily activities., As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties throughout the school day
- Assist with personalised learning activities tailored to individual needs
- Support students with communication, sensory and physical development
- Work alongside teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver high-quality care and education
- Promote student engagement, independence and wellbeing
- Support with personal care where required
- Help create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
Experience working with children or adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) - A caring, patient and compassionate approach
- Confidence supporting individuals with complex learning, physical or medical needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in education, care, support work, healthcare or similar settings is desirable
