THIS POST IS FOR INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY
Would you like to be delivering strategic Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, developing processes to support our planning for REF2029, and enhancing our academic and research culture and environment?
The Department of Physics is looking for a motivated individual with a passion for both science and people to join the research facilitation team supporting our academics and researchers.
Working with a wide range of Departmental, Divisional and University stakeholders, including academic, research, technical and professional staff, the successful candidate will develop and report on Departmental initiatives to maximise our performance in the REF2029 exercise, particularly pertaining to the People, Culture and Environment theme. They will lead academic culture, workload and wellbeing initiatives, including future submissions for Athena Swan. They will provide expert advice on EDI to inform research grant applications and Fellowship processes.
If you have a science degree, a deep understanding of EDI issues, excellent communication skills, a high level of tact and discretion and can win the trust and confidence of a wide range of colleagues, we can provide you with challenging projects and the opportunity to make a real difference in people's working lives. You should also have significant experience of working in a complex organisation, managing a number of simultaneous projects and deadlines.
