Full Job Description

We are seeking an EDI Officer to support the development, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based projects, action plans and positive action programmes across a range of protected characteristics. Based within the central EDI Team and reporting to an EDI Manager, you will support initiatives including EDI charters such as Athena Swan and act as a first point of contact for queries and requests. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders, coordinate events and networking activities, deliver training and presentations, and prepare reports, briefings and communications materials. You will also analyse and present staff and student data to inform projects, maintaining confidentiality and meeting data protection requirements.

You will have experience working on EDI issues and interventions, including positive action and delivering EDI-related training. You will also bring experience of planning, delivering and evaluating EDI projects, alongside demonstrable knowledge of the Equality Act 2010, the duties it places on UCL and current equality issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to advise stakeholders sensitively on complex or contentious matters and produce high-quality resources. You will demonstrate integrity, sound judgement and respect for confidentiality, supported by excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills. You will be comfortable taking initiative, adapting to changing priorities and working independently where information is incomplete or circumstances are uncertain. Experience of proactively engaging stakeholders and building networks would be an advantage.
