Early Years Practitioner

Location: Camden

Contract: Locum - Initial 3 months

Hours: 36 hours per week (shift pattern between 8am - 6pm)

Pay: £20.20 per hour (Umbrella) (£15.57 PAYE exclusive)

About the Role

  • Camden Council is currently recruiting Early Years Practitioners to join their childcare settings on an initial 3-month contract.
  • This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality early education and care to children from birth to 7 years, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality childcare and early education in a safe, stimulating environment
  • Support planning and delivery of engaging activities tailored to children's individual needs
  • Carry out observations, assessments, and maintain accurate developmental records
  • Promote children's learning, development, and wellbeing
  • Support children with additional needs, including implementing targeted interventions
  • Provide personal care including feeding, toileting, and hygiene
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other professionals

About You

  • We are looking for candidates who:
  • Have experience working in an early years or nursery setting
  • Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Are confident in observing, assessing, and tracking children's development
  • Have a caring, proactive, and flexible approach
  • Can work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
