Introduction
This Level 3 apprenticeship training programme develops the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to work in a childcare setting with the opportunity to take responsibility for leading childcare provision.
About the Employer
Stepping Stones was founded in 1996 and has been under the same management ever since. Housed in two rooms within the Church of God of Prophecy in Kitto Road, we are able to cater for up to 29 children aged between 6 months and 5 years old. Our aims and objectives are:
- To provide high quality childcare provision for young children and their families.
- To enable parents to return to education or work, so that they improve their children’s life and get them out of poverty and depravation.
- To serve the local community, to promote racial equality and anti-discriminatory practice and inclusive provision.
- To ensure that all children have access to an appropriate broad curriculum, be considered as individuals, have their needs met, be given opportunities to become independent, and have access to all areas of the curriculum and provision (equality of opportunity).
- To reflect to the local and wider community and make all children and their families feel comfortable, welcome and included.
What You'll Do
Under the guidance of teachers, the successful candidate will be involved in working with individuals or small groups of children to support the education, personal and social development of pupils and establishing positive relationships to assist pupils complete structured learning activities.
Duties may include:
- Support to implement learning activities working with individual or small groups of pupils
- Support to assist the development of varying skills that support pupils' learning
- Support in producing learning resources
- Support to assist in pupil supervision
- Support in monitoring and recording of pupil progress and developmental needs
- Reporting pupil progress to the teacher
- Work within the schools policy and procedures
- Working to the relevant apprenticeship standard/framework and completing work in a timely manner
- To the accountabilities above, the apprentice may be required to undertake any of the duties normally
Training Outcome
- Once you have completed the Level 3 and become full and relevant then your next step would be Room Leader and complete the Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner
