Early Pregnancy Loss Counsellor

The successful candidate will work with patients who require emotional and counselling support during pregnancy loss, termination of pregnancy and gynaecology care.

We are looking for someone with good communication skills who is able to listen, show empathy and provide appropriate counselling support to patients and their partners. The person should be comfortable having sensitive conversations and supporting patients.

They should be able to work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team, maintain appropriate professional boundaries and recognise when further support or referral may be required.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the post-holder will provide counselling supportto any patient and/or their partner, who has experienced early pregnancy loss, or patients who are considering or have undergone termination of pregnancy

To deliver support to patients accessing the Early Pregnancy Loss Counselling services.

To deliver training, where necessary to the multi-disciplinary team.

To maintain accurate records and professional standards by attending regular supervision, continuous professional development and training relevant to this role.
