An exciting opportunity for a part time maternity cover band 6 Podiatrist post has arisen. Ideal for a some looking for flexible working option. They will be part of a motivated team. Working independently and within a team mainly in community and as required other settings providing a high standard of quality clinical care. To assess, diagnose, develop andimplement individualised care programmes for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs including vascular problems, diabetes, rheumatology and MSK. The post holder will also be expected to plan and manage their owndomiciliary caseload, support podiatry assistants, newly qualified staff and students., To deliver Podiatric care in a variety of community clinics and domiciliary settings throughout Ealing., The post holder will work independently in a variety of community and where necessary in acute settings, providing a high standard of quality clinical care showing the knowledge and skills needed to meet the competencies for a band 6 Podiatrist. You will assess, diagnose, develop and implement individualised care plans for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs, including but not limited to acute and chronic complex long term conditions (LTC), chronic diseases, vascular and wound management. You will be expected to work with Specialist leads to support care plans. You will be expected to plan and manage caseloads. You will ensure effectively screening patients, providing assessments and treatment plans for People with Long term disorders, Rheumatic Inflammatory disorders, Learning Difficulties, Stroke , Mental Health and physical health disorders within all clinical care settings and provide educational opportunities to both podiatry and other health and social care staff and patients alike to promote an understanding of Long term conditions and the importance of foot function for people affected by LTC, dysfunction or Progressive Conditions. You will autonomously assess, manage, treat, educate, train others and help create pathways for complex caseloads with the Specialist leads, consisting of and including patients with: acute and chronic diabetic/non diabetic foot problems, pre and post-operative amputations wounds and acute and chronic neuropathic, vascular foot/lower limb problems, rheumatological problems, immunological problems, dermatological problems, neurological problems and mental health problems using appropriate diagnostic techniques, knowledge, skills and tools.
We are looking for a Podiatrist who should be enthusiastic and highly motivated, with the ability to work autonomously delivering patient care including the management of high-risk patients, Biomechanical/Musculoskeletal conditions and Nail Surgery. You will be responsible for the assessment, care planning and treatment of patients on a daily basis. You should be highly organised, working on your own initiative. You should be aware of professional and national guidelines, be up to date with current best practice and be able to demonstrate your interest in continued professional development and clinical audits. Applications are invited with BSc /Diploma in Podiatry HCPC registered podiatrists with twelve months continuous experience in a wide range of podiatry specialisms who are keen to advance their clinical and professional skills. We actively encourage CPD, building on sound clinical guidelines.,
- Podiatry professional qualification
- Registration with Health Professions Council.
- Certificate in Local Anaesthesia.
- Evidence or Portfolio of post-grad Continued Development
- Experience of service delivery in acute and community settings.
- Evidence of Specialist study and training in LTC e.g. RCPOD Diabetic Foot Module.
- Experience of working at a Band 6 level or above and evidence of working with a High-risk caseload.
- Experience of multi-disciplinary and inter-agency working., Knowledge and application of clinical governance.
- The ability to maintain up to date clinical knowledge and skills.
- In-depth knowledge in the management of the diabetic foot and general medical diabetes management.
- Knowledge and understanding of the NICE clinical guidelines.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, report writing, presentation skills.
- Good inter-personal skills needed to liaise with Neurorehabilitation, Rheumatology/Orthopaedic Consultants and other specialists in this field.
- Organisational and planning skills to manage your own work time.
- Ability to deal professionally and objectively with distressing/uncomfortable situations, e.g. terminally ill patients, child abuse, providing guidance to team members where appropriate.
- Knowledge of diversity issues and ability to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
- A forward thinking, creative and flexible approach.
- Ability to critically reflect on and improve own practice applying evidence based practice
