Full Job Description

Restart Integrated Domestic Abuse Service is seeking a compassionate, organised and resilient Duty/Triage Worker to join our dedicated team supporting individuals and families affected by domestic abuse. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of domestic abuse risk assessment, safeguarding and supporting vulnerable people to play a pivotal role as the first point of contact for those seeking help. You will ensure that service users receive a timely, effective and trauma-informed response, helping them access the right support at the right time. About the Role As a Duty/Triage Worker, you will be the primary contact for referrals into the service, including self-referrals, professional referrals and partner agency referrals. You will assess risk, identify needs, provide advice and guidance, and ensure referrals are directed appropriately to achieve the best outcomes for victim/survivors and their children. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will gather and record sensitive information, support effective decision-making, and work alongside internal colleagues and external agencies to safeguard vulnerable adults and children.,

  • Act as the first point of contact for all referrals into the Restart Integrated Domestic Abuse Service.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to victims of domestic abuse and other forms of violence and abuse.
  • Assess risk and vulnerability, identifying those most at risk and prioritising support accordingly.
  • Gather, record and manage highly sensitive information accurately and confidentially.
  • Provide advice, guidance and timely responses to enquiries from service users, professionals and partner agencies.
  • Work closely with colleagues to develop safety plans and manage risk effectively.
  • Liaise with statutory and voluntary sector partners to ensure coordinated support.
  • Advocate on behalf of victims to help ensure their needs are understood and met.
  • Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns relating to children and adults at risk.
  • Maintain accurate case records in line with service policies, data protection requirements and professional standards.

  • Has experience working with vulnerable adults, children or families.
  • Has a sound understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on victims and their children.
  • Can undertake risk assessments and make informed decisions in challenging situations.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is able to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Has experience of multi-agency working and partnership collaboration.
  • Can remain calm, organised and effective within a busy and emotionally demanding environment.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
