Duty Manager - The Side Hustle (Sports Bar)

At The Side Hustle, every shift matters. High-volume trading, fast-paced service, and an atmosphere that needs to be delivered consistently from open to close. As Duty Manager, you'll take ownership of the shift - leading the team, driving service, and ensuring everything runs smoothly, efficiently, and in line with brand expectations. This is a role for someone who thrives on pace, leads from the front, and knows how to keep energy high while standards stay tight. What you'll be doing Leading shifts from start to finish

• Taking full responsibility for shifts from open to close
• Leading pre-shift briefings and setting clear expectations
• Making real-time decisions to ensure smooth service
• Coordinating bar, floor, and kitchen teams effectively
Delivering the guest experience
• Ensuring fast, friendly, and consistent service
• Creating strong first impressions and a seamless guest journey
• Handling guest feedback and resolving issues professionally
• Maintaining a welcoming, inclusive, and energetic environment
Leading and supporting your team
• Motivating and leading the team throughout service
• Allocating sections and managing deployment effectively
• Providing in-the-moment coaching and support
• Keeping team engagement and morale high during peak periods
Maintaining standards and compliance
• Ensuring adherence to licensing, health & safety, and company procedures
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Supporting stock control and minimising waste
• Ensuring all areas of the venue are guest-ready at all times
  
  Highly visible, hands-on leader
• Positive, energetic, and proactive
• Strong communicator with a team-first mindset
• Confident decision-maker under pressure
Experience
• Experience in a hospitality, bar, or restaurant environment
• Previous supervisory or team leader experience preferred
• Comfortable working in high-volume, fast-paced settings
• Strong understanding of service standards
