Full Job Description

  • Support the Home Manager and deputise when required
  • Lead, mentor and supervise staff to maintain high-quality care
  • Ensure care aligns with each young person's placement plan
  • Build positive, trusting relationships and promote development and safety
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, health services and local authorities
  • Maintain safeguarding compliance and ensure staff training is current
  • Promote Budwood's therapeutic approach (CATCH)
  • Assist with rotas, budgeting, timesheets and staff inductions
  • Oversee records, risk assessments and placement documentation
  • Support learning, emotional development and independence
  • Maintain home standards, including meal prep and general upkeep
  • Assist with inspections, audits and health and safety compliance
  • Participate in the on-call rota and ongoing professional development

    We're looking for a passionate, motivated, Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care / Children and Young People (or working towards this qualification)
  • At least two years' experience in residential childcare or supported living
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Strong understanding of the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004 and Supported Accommodation Quality Standards
  • Solid knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety and regulatory requirements
  • Experience supporting young people, ideally including emotional and behavioural needs, youth work or residential care
  • Confident leadership and teamwork skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proactive, flexible and child-centred
