Full Job Description
A well-established Secondary School in Haringey is seeking an experienced and reliable Design & Technology Technician to join their DT department on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician with experience supporting Resistant Materials, Woodwork, and workshop machinery within an educational setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching staff, maintaining workshop equipment, preparing materials for lessons, and ensuring a safe and productive learning environment for students. What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for practical DT lessons.
- Supporting the delivery of Resistant Materials and Woodwork projects across KS3 and KS4.
- Maintaining, servicing, and organising workshop machinery and equipment.
- Carrying out routine safety checks and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
- Managing stock levels and ordering materials when required.
- Assisting teachers during practical lessons where necessary.
- Ensuring all machinery and equipment are used safely and appropriately.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
- Supporting risk assessments and departmental safety procedures.
Previous experience working as a DT Technician, Workshop Technician, or similar role. - Strong knowledge of Resistant Materials, Woodwork, and workshop machinery.
- Experience operating and maintaining woodworking machinery safely.
- Relevant machinery, workshop, or health and safety qualifications/certificates.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
£120 - £150 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term Role | ASAP Start, Competitive daily rate of £120 - £150 per day. - Long-term, full-time opportunity.
