Full Job Description
Come and join us as a Drug & Alcohol Safeguarding Worker to make a difference improving the lives of children and families! The Role The Family Safeguarding Team in Surrey (FST) service sees specialist adult focussed practitioners, with expertise in domestic abuse, mental health, or substance misuse - integrated within children's safeguarding teams - with the aim of providing comprehensive support. The substance misuse element of the FST is a part of the Surrey i-access service, with specialist Family Safeguarding Recovery Practitioners collocated with children and family teams. You will:
- provide liaison, signposting and collaborative working within the Family Safeguarding Team, Surrey County Council and work closely with via and i-access Community Drug and Alcohol Services.
- deliver excellent drug and alcohol interventions to people who use our service.
- co-facilitate parenting groups across Surrey in Partnership with i-access CDAT.
- manage initial assessment, liaising between social work colleagues to support parents who have children on Child in Need and Child Protection Plans into treatment.
- work closely with the clinical lead.
- work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholder across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring adherence with all Via and i-access policies, procedures and guidelines including Adult and Child Safeguarding Policies. The Service The FSS is a multi-disciplinary model within Children's Services which aims to improve the quality of work undertaken with families and thereby improving outcomes for children and parents. i-access is an integrated service delivered in partnership by Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust (SABP) and Via. It is commissioned to provide substance misuse treatment for people aged 18 and onwards within Surrey.
