Are you a reliable and hardworking Driver Operative looking for your next opportunity? We're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and is committed to delivering work safely and efficiently. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll support civils and utility projects across multiple sites while helping to keep operations running smoothly., As a Driver Operative (3.5 Tonne), you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of civils works sites across the region. Working alongside Supervisors, Gangers and site teams, you'll carry out a range of practical duties, including transporting materials and equipment, supporting excavation and utility works, maintaining safe and organised work areas, and ensuring vehicles are kept clean and roadworthy. The role also involves loading and unloading vehicles, transporting waste materials to approved disposal sites, assisting with site setup and operational activities, and contributing to a positive health and safety culture. Flexibility is important, as you'll be required to participate in an emergency call-out rota and occasionally work outside of standard hours when operational needs require.
We're looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious and enjoys working as part of a team. Ideally, you'll have:
- Experience driving and operating commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, including tipper vehicles.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions effectively.
- A strong work ethic with a reliable, proactive approach to work.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety practices and a commitment to safe working.
- The ability to work across multiple sites and adapt to changing priorities. Desirable
- Groundworks, civils or utility industry experience.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
- NRSWA Streetworks qualification.
- NPORS Vehicle Marshal certification.
- Emergency First Aid and Manual Handling training.
