Drive Commissioning / Service Field Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Medium voltage Variable Speed Drive (VSD) Commissioning Engineer to work for a leading manufacturing company. Reporting to the Field Service Engineering Leader you will be a key member of the team carrying out commissioning and maintenance tasks. Initially this role will be based at our Marine Power Test Facility at Whetstone in Leicestershire, but after approximately 18 months travel further afield may be required for durations of up to 4 weeks at a time. Primarily responsible for the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and documenting of drive systems, safely, to defined instructions in preparation for hand-over to the test team. The role will also require ongoing maintenance of drive equipment. Key responsibilities will include:

• Installation and checking of associated cabling, circuit breakers, contactors, transformers, UPS batteries/systems and variable speed drives.
• Commissioning and full integration of Variable Speed Drives. Service and fault finding on drive equipment and associated systems.
• To produce as commissioned documentation in accordance with independently audited Company Quality and Safety Management Systems e.g. BS EN 18001 and Classification Societies e.g. Lloyds Register and DNV.
• Maintain competence through training courses and Electronic learning in line with company policies.
  
  Is a sole UK National and holds, or is eligible to obtain, UK security clearance to SC level.
• To be competent and have a proven record of HV/LV plant and drive commissioning.
• Be competent to produce, and maintain, documentation to the required standards.
• Degree or HNC level qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
• Familiarity with IEC and marine classification society rules desirable.
• Experience of MV drive commissioning and fault finding.
• Must have established record of sitework.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal in English.
