Full Job Description
My daughter is a happy, sociable young person who is supported by a loving and caring family. She has learning difficulties, along with some speech and language delays. She wears glasses for a stigmatism and has very wide feet, so she wears oversize shoes. She enjoys performing, swimming, going to disability sport club and visiting cafes. This role is all about providing kind, one-to-one support to help her develop her communication skills, enjoy social activities, and feel confident exploring the world around her. Main Duties
- Gently support and encourage her speech and language development through everyday interaction and play.
- Help her take part in activities both after school and in holiday periods and have fun trying new things.
- Encourage her to stay active and enjoy different environments such as the park, beach, or soft play areas.
- Provide support with personal care when needed, including help with toileting especially during menstruation.
- Give parents the opportunity to spend time with her sibling by offering reliable and caring support.
- Always keep her safe, being mindful that she is averse to loud noises and dogs, and taking care to reduce any risks.
Enthusiastic Patient and considerate Caring, honest, responsible and patient Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job. Reliable with good time keeping. Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated. Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy. An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship. Good communication and inter-personal skills. A full driving licence and use of a car is required. You must have business use on your insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
