Full Job Description

  • The Domestic Assistant will be based on wards and department areas within the NHS buildings which includes off site premises, ensuring the highest standard of cleaning is achieved through the Trust working in line with The National Standards of Cleaning.
  • As part of the department team you will be required to follow specific requests by ward / department managers.
  • A flexible approach to work is expected to suit the needs of the service.

    Vacancys has arisen within the Facilities to join our established team of Domestic Assistants. We are looking for motivated persons with a positive attitude. Cleaning experience in either a non-domestic environment or clinical environment is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
  • The successful candidate will be flexible to cover the demands of the domestic services and be able to adapt to changes within the department and have the ability and initiative to learn new skills and work independently. Ability to understand written and verbal instructions is essential. Candidates must be willing to work towards training relating to the job role. Trustworthy, reliable and be able to prioritise workload. Flexibility within this role is essential as it will involve covering for other members of the team. All training will be given to meet the requirements of the post.,
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of cleaning.
  • Policies, practices and procedures e.g. NHS national policies, standards, requirements and directions that relate to job role.

  • Knowledge of working in a Hospital or Care Home setting
  • Qualifications Essential
  • Basic numeracy and ability to read and write English

  • Demonstrates an ability to prioritise own workload and to be able to work on own and meet expectations
  • Physical / Practical Essential
  • Ability to perform Moving & Handling tasks - this will include working at heights and using operated floor machines.
