Domestic Assistant

Observing correct safe working procedures in accordance with the provisions of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.

• Carrying out routine cleaning tasks at the scheduled time, in a specified area and in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the area of responsibility.
• Emptying and disposing of domestic and clinical waste in accordance with the Trust's infection prevention and control & waste disposal policies.
• Replenishing consumables (i.e. paper towels, toilet rolls, soap, etc)
• Storing and using cleaning equipment and materials safely and efficiently and in compliance with COSHH regulations.
• Using only approved cleaning equipment and materials in accordance with training and instructions provided.
• Undertaking all cleaning duties in a safe manner, using PPE and hazard signs as appropriate.
• Liaising with clinical staff in order to deliver a patient focused service.
• Being vigilant and reporting care and estate issues to your line manager.
• Responding to any reactive cleaning requests on-site complying with infection prevention and control and/or management instruction.
• Collecting and moving refuse including emptying, cleaning and relining waste bins with appropriate coloured liner.
• Cleaning of sanitary areas including WC's, wash hand basins, baths, showers, sinks and sluices, floors, all surfaces, furniture and fittings
