Domestic Abuse Principal Officer

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Domestic Abuse Principal Officer to lead and support multi-agency partnership activity focused on Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls (DA and VAWG). Working closely with Adult Social Care, Community Safety and wider system partners, you will help drive the development, implementation and evaluation of partnership strategies and programmes that improve outcomes for victims, survivors and the wider community. This is a high-impact role operating in a complex partnership environment. The postholder will act as a key interface between the Council, external stakeholders and governance boards, promoting collaboration, shared accountability and evidence-based practice. You will provide expert advice, shape policy, support commissioning and service improvement, monitor performance and resources, and ensure that services remain responsive, effective and value for money.,

• The post holder will lead in supporting the DA and VAWG Abuse Board to coordinating multi-agency activity to deliver partnership activity across Adult Social Care, Community Safety, and wider system partners to deliver improved outcomes for victims and survivors of DA and VAWG and the wider community.
• The postholder will lead the development, implementation and evaluation of partnership strategies and programmes, ensuring alignment with Council priorities and statutory responsibilities.
• Operating within a complex, multi-agency environment, the role will bring together partners across the public, voluntary and community sectors to address cross-cutting challenges such as safeguarding, vulnerability, associated with Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls (DA & VAWG).
• The postholder will act as a key interface between the Council, external stakeholders, and governance boards, ensuring effective collaboration, shared accountability, and delivery of measurable impact.
• The role requires a prominent level of strategic thinking, political awareness and professional expertise to influence decision-making, shape policy, and respond to emerging risks and opportunities. The postholder will champion innovation, continuous improvement, and evidence-based practice, ensuring services are responsive, efficient and deliver value for money.
  
  The successful candidate will bring significant senior-level experience in the DA and VAWG field, strong partnership and project management skills, and the ability to influence, negotiate and build effective relationships across statutory, voluntary, community and independent sectors. You will combine professional expertise with strategic thinking, political awareness and a commitment to continuous improvement, safeguarding and better outcomes for communities.
