Doctoral Training Programmes Manager

Applications are invited for the post of Doctoral Training Programmes Manager in the Royal Holloway Doctoral School.
Royal Holloway University of London has been successfully awarded a number of new funding opportunities, including the BBSRC EngBio4GBP Doctoral Focal Award and the Leverhulme Doctoral Scholarships for Next Generation Democracy. This created an opportunity to establish a new role, which is designed to meet our resource support commitments to these awards, but for other awards we currently have consolidated into one post. Our ambition is to continue to build our studentship opportunities, establish a core team to support this.
The Doctoral Training Programmes Manager will lead on administration for of our externally funded doctoral awards. The Doctoral Training Programmes Manager will work closely with the Academic Directors/Leads to ensure the successful implementation of funding awards and will provide leadership to team members supporting the bids. Further, they will be involved in supporting new bids providing valued strategic input into resource needs and programme design, and may support initial set up of successful new bids.

The successful candidate will be education to degree level or equivalent and have a strong understanding of the Higher Education sector. You will have the ability to think and plan strategically, strong interpersonal skills, excellent organisational skills, strong problem-solving skills and flexibility to adapt and respond to changing requirements, a high level of written and IT literacy and communication skills, and strong team-working skills. You will demonstrate experience of line management and team leadership, of having a professional approach with communication to staff and service users, delivering a strong standard of service, as well as possessing the ability to work collaboratively, and to review and develop processes.

The post is based in Egham, Surrey where the University is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London. Some events may take place at our London campus (e.g., Bedford Square or Stewart House).
