Dispenser (Maternity Cover)

Process prescriptions authorised by GPs and prescribing clinicians in accordance with practice procedures.

Ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are accurately checked against the prescription.

Refer any queries regarding medication, dosage, or labelling instructions to the authorising clinician or duty doctor.

Assist at the dispensary hatch, issuing medications to patients and collecting prescription charges where appropriate.

Ensure patient declarations on FP10 prescription forms are completed and signed correctly.

Learn and utilise the SystmOne ordering system to process medication orders and maintain stock levels.

Assist with dispensary administration, including cashing up and prescription counting.

Provide a professional, efficient, and courteous service when dealing with patient queries.

Participate in dispensary housekeeping and stock management activities.

Be willing to work at least one late shift per week until 6:30pm.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Dispenser to join our friendly and supportive Dispensary team on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover.

We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic, and patient-focused individual who can deliver a high-quality dispensing service whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail. The successful candidate will work as part of a busy and proactive team, ensuring prescriptions are processed accurately and efficiently in accordance with practice policies and procedures.

Previous dispensing experience and an NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy/Dispensary Assistant qualification are essential for this role.
