Dispenser / Administrator Coniston Medical Practice

From 1st August 2025, Morecambe Bay Primary Care Collaborative your local not-for-profit GP federation will be supporting the Coniston GP surgery for 12 months. To deliver great care, we need great people including a new Dispenser / Administrator. This role combines two vital elements: supporting patients at the reception desk and preparing/dispensing medication in our small community dispensary. Its ideal for someone whos calm, organised, and enjoys helping others. The surgery is going to be open 5 days a week, with no lone working at any time. Your working hours will be between 08:00 AM to 18:30 PM, Monday to Friday.Main duties of the job What does the role involve Youll work as part of our friendly local team to:

• Greet and support patients at reception
• Book appointments and manage admin systems
• Prepare and dispense medications for patients
• Maintain stock, update records, and support the GP team
• Provide an efficient, professional front-of-house and dispensary service
  
  You dont need NHS experience just:
• A warm, professional approach
• Strong IT, English, and communication skills
• Willingness to learn (dispensing training provided)
• Ideally NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing (or willing to work toward it)
• Someone who lives in or near Coniston, or wants to work in a meaningful rural role
