Dispenser

The Holbrook and Shotley Practice are looking to welcome a qualified dispenser into our busy dispensing practice to join us on a full-time basis. We can be really flexible and offer this position to two applicants on a part-time basis depending on your circumstances. Your hours will be worked across both our dispensaries at Holbrook and Shotley surgeries, ideally with additional hours as required to cover for annual leave and sickness. You must be able to work on a Monday, Thursday and Friday each week.,

• Process all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions as authorised by GPs and prescribing nurses where appropriate, in accordance with the good practice principles of the Dispensing Services Quality Scheme;
• Ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription and whenever there is doubt about the appropriateness of the item, or about the dose or labelling instructions, to check with the authorising doctor or duty doctor;
• Collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient;
• Process hospital letters;
• Process dossette boxes;
• Manage ordering stock and stock control;
• Answer and deal with dispensary phone enquiries;
• Monitor patients exemption status;
• Sort and dispose of unwanted/returned medication;
• Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery as directed by the either the dispensary manager or practice manager.
  
  The Holbrook and Shotley Practice is a GP Practice across two surgery sites. We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care to our 8000 patients. Our practice team comprises ofthree GP partners, two salaried GPs, supported by a highly experienced team of nurses, dispensers, paramedics, and reception team.
